Boarding

We are proud to offer boarding services to our patients. Reservations must be made in advance, as space is limited. You can call our office to set up your pet to stay with us. We are also able to medicate your dog or cat as needed while they stay with us.

Upon leaving your pet off with us you will be asked to provide us with the following information:

When the last dose of flea medication (and product name) was applied
When the last vaccinations were given (If we do not have it on record)
An emergency contact and phone number

If you are bringing food and/or medication for your pet(s), please be sure it is marked with your pets name, medication name, and amounts and intervals to be given.

Dogs

While here, your pup will be taken out three times a day and fed in the morning and the evening, unless otherwise specified. You are welcome to bring your dog’s own food or he/she can enjoy the Science Diet Adult we have available. We also provide bowls and bedding for each guest.

Dogs are required to be up to date on vaccinations and free of internal and external parasites. If your dog is not current on any of the required treatments, we would be happy to update those while your dog is staying with us. Specific requirements are:

Rabies (1 or 3 year are acceptable)
DA2PP vaccination yearly
Bordetella vaccination yearly
Fecal Exam yearly
Frontline Plus or other acceptable flea medication within the last 30 days.

Cats

Cats are housed separately from dogs, as they tend to like quieter environments than their noisy canine counterparts. As with dogs, you are welcome to bring the food they are used to from home.

Cats are required to be up to date on vaccinations and free of internal and external parasites. If your feline friend is not up to date on any of the required treatments, we would be more than happy to update them while they are staying with us. Requirements for cats are:

Rabies vaccination
FVRCP vaccination
Frontline Plus or other acceptable flea medication within the last 30 days.

Debbie graduated in 1993 from the Veterinary Technology program at Maple Woods Community College here in Kansas City. She has been a part of Picture Hills Pet Hospital since she did her summer internship here in 1992.

She and her husband have a hard time saying “no” to an animal in need of a home, and the head count at their house right now includes 3 dogs (Cinnamon, Ginger and Joplin) and 3 cats (Penny, Rascal and Mushu).

Elizabeth is a 2002 graduate of the Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program. She started working at Picture Hills as a high school junior, cleaning kennels and walking dogs after school and on weekends.

Elizabeth’s 4-legged family consists of 3 cats (Biscuit, Dewey and Popcorn) and 2 dogs (Chuck and Noodle).

Clare Tousley

Clare came to us from a practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in June of 2000. She is the front office personality of Picture Hills Pet Hospital. Clare and her husband have a son and a daughter and also share their home with 3 cats.

Dr. Jane Brawley, DVM

Dr. Brawley is a 1982 graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia. Dr. Brawley opened Picture Hills Pet Hospital in 1989, and incorporated it in 1999. She is married to a veterinarian who cares for farm and companion animals at his own practice in their hometown of Plattsburg, Missouri, a small town about 30 miles north of Kansas City. They have two grown children.

Dr. Brawley has two adorable dogs, Val and Leo, that are Standard Poodle/Bloodhound mixes.

Connie Engle

Connie has returned to PHPH to help us out when needed with reception duties. She is retired from AT&T. She shares her home with her husband and 2 dogs.

Kasey Rennaker

Kasey is a current student of Maple Woods’ Vet Tech program and will graduate in 2013. She has many jobs around PHPH that include front desk, kennels and assisting. She has 2 family cats at home.

Chassity Stewart, RVT

Chassity is a 2004 graduate from the Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program. She has been with us at Picture Hills since 2001. Chassity and her husband are the proud parents of two daughters, Elliott and Emmrie, and also have 2 cats and a dog.

Dr. Sarah Golladay, DVM

Dr. Golladay graduated from KSU in Manhattan, Kansas in 2000 and joined the Picture Hills Pet Hospital staff in 2004. Prior to joining our staff she worked in emergency medicine for 3 years. She and her husband live in Liberty, MO with their sons Caleb and Samuel, 2 dogs (Bella and Gable), and the best cat ever, Jonathon.
